Position Overview:

The Human Resource Technician assists with and facilitates the benefits and human resource processes at all business locations for full-service, PEO and ASO clients. This role provides administrative support to the human resource and benefits function as needed, including record-keeping, audits, monthly report, invoice processing, file maintenance and HRIS/portal entries.

The Human Resource Technician works under the direction of the VP of Human Resources and supports the daily operations of Afinida HR by helping to create a “Wow” experience when interacting with clients by consistently upholding the firms expectations. Tasked with administrating the support for our HR team, this role uses independent judgment and decision-making to support the delivery of customized Afinida Human Resource service solutions that positively impact our clients’ businesses and result in retention and growth.

This role is heavy on 401(k) administration tasks, audits, invoice processing and daily/weekly/monthly reporting.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Duties/Responsibilities:

Provides support to the HR team, focusing on plan management;
Supports success of clients through the planning and administration of benefits programs;
Assists with the onboarding of new clients, client site visits and new policy roll-outs;
Partners with HR Consultants to schedule and coordinate updates and system updates;
Assists with formal presentations, including complex webinars and client trainings, in a clear, concise and logical sequence at a level appropriate to the audience;
Assists with project assignments and/or client data analysis;
Assists with managing client project management software;
Collaborates with internal departments to design customized client reports, solutions and occasionally communicates directly with clients;
Generates reports and invoices on regular basis for clients;
Processes employee benefit elections and changes;
Processes employee retirement elections weekly;
Processes retirement contributions weekly;
Enters, reviews and monitors customer relationship management system as required to ensure timely delivery of service activities;
Provides administrative support as required;
Communicates, endorses and models the Company vision;
Manages each service interaction in a positive, professional manager;
Builds, maintains and promotes effective, highly functional relationships with all internal customers;
Other duties as assigned as need by management.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software;
Advanced proficiency with Excel specifically;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills;
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate;
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality;
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations;
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems;

Education and Experience:

1+ years’ experience in a Customer Service or Business Administration role;
1+ years’ experience with employee benefit plans;
3+ years’ experience with Microsoft Excel;
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related, highly preferred;
One to three years minimum Human Resource or administrative experience with emphasis on HR preferred;
PHR/SHRM certification in progress preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard;
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work;
Light to moderate lifting may be required;
Regular, predictable attendance is required; including quarter-driven hours as business demands dictate;
Moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic);
Ability to work in a confined area;
Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
